Job Description
As a Swim Instructor at Grand River Ymca Gators, you will be responsible for leading swimming programs, offering both individual and group lessons specifically designed for children of different age groups and skill levels. This position is perfect for students attending who are passionate about swimming, possess exceptional communication skills, and have the ability to motivate young swimmers while cultivating a profound respect and love for the water. Currently, we are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Swim Instructor to become part of our team and contribute to our Grand River Ymca Gators in Chillicothe, MO.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver swim instruction to students with diverse ages and abilities
• Create a safe and encouraging learning environment for all participants
• Evaluate student progress, offer feedback, and provide support as necessary
Requirements:
• Past experience working with students of various ages and skill levels, preferably in an educational or instructional environment
• Proficient in a variety of swim strokes and techniques, with a strong swimming background
• Knowledgeable in water safety and survival skills
• Possess CPR & First Aid Certification for infants, children, and adults
• Excellent communication, organization, time management, and innovative teaching abilities
• Effective behavior management skills, capable of handling difficult situations calmly and professionally
• Prior experience in childcare or sports coaching is advantageous, displaying familiarity with interacting with children in structured settings
• A genuine love for swimming and children, demonstrated through passion and dedication
